Leo de Bever, Chairman, Oak Point Energy
Leo de Bever’s passion for productivity is currently focused on helping foreign pension plans achieve the economics of Canadian plans, and on improving small company access to commercialization capital.
He is a member of the Investment Committee at Sustainable Development Technology Canada, a Senior Advisor at Bennett Jones LLP, and Chairman of Oak Point Energy.
Leo has served financial institutions based in Canada, the U.S, Japan and Australia, including the Bank of Canada, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, and Alberta Investment Management Corporation.
He has advised to Norway’s Pension Plan, and served on the Investment Committee of Dutch pension fund APG.
Leo grew up in the Netherlands. He received his B.A. in economics from the University of Oregon, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin.

Louis Bélanger, Vice President & Director, TD Asset Management Inc.
Louis Bélanger joined TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM) in February 2016, bringing over 18 years of experience in private debt management. In his current role as lead Portfolio Manager of TDAM's Private Debt initiative, he is responsible for managing private debt portfolios and raising capital on behalf of TDAM's institutional clients. Prior to joining TDAM, Louis served as Managing Director for a major asset management company, where he established the firm's asset management division in 2011 with the creation of the first two private infrastructure debt funds in Canada. In his prior role as Assistant Vice President at a large insurance firm, he managed senior secured private debt transactions within the income trusts, securitization, real estate, project and equipment financing sectors. Louis holds a Bachelor of Economics with Honours from Bishop's University and a Masters of Science in Finance from Université de Sherbrooke. Louis is a CFA charterholder and a certified Financial Risk Manager.

Cary Blake is a sales executive for Vanguard Investments Canada Inc., serving institutional clients across Canada.
Mr. Blake has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, focusing on product development and portfolio management. Most recently, he was a vice president at RBC Global Asset Management, where he was responsible for ETF business strategy and product development. Before that, he was responsible for the Global Index and Markets Group at BlackRock Canada.
Mr. Blake graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is a CFA® charterholder.

Brian Cyr, Managing Director, bfinance Canada
Brian oversees the representation of bfinance Canada, a subsidiary of international investment consulting house bfinance International Ltd. Prior to joining bfinance in 2012, Brian was responsible for the relationship management of institutional clients in Eastern Canada for Pyramis Global Advisors, a Fidelity Investments company. Previously, he was Manager, Investment Program, in Standard Life’s Group Savings & Retirement division. His responsibilities included the selection and monitoring of asset managers as well as investment counselling to DC and DB pension schemes across Canada. He began his career in 1998 at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDP) where he held various analyst roles, notably in Private Placements. Brian earned a BA in Public Communications and a BBA in International Business from Université Laval in Quebec City. He is a CFA charterholder.

Paul Domjan, CEO, 4CAST-RGE (formerly Roubini Global Economics)
Paul Domjan is Managing Director of 4CAST-RGE. Paul led the development of Quantitative Country Analytics, the core analytical model used by Country Insights, which was acquired by Roubini Global Economics in 2012. Prior to setting up Country Insights, Paul was a director of JH&Co, where he was responsible for work on economic competitiveness and natural resources and was the process lead for scenario thinking and stakeholder engagement. He is active in policy, most recently as a special adviser to the Energy and Climate Change Select Committee of the UK parliament. He has been a member of the executive committee of the Constellation Energy Institute; an Energy Fellow at the Stockholm Network; and a British Marshall Scholar at Wolfson College, University of Oxford. He has advised on energy, energy technology and climate on a number of major projects of the Atlantic Council, Chatham House, CSIS and the Heritage Foundation. Paul previously served as the first energy security adviser to the U.S. European Command of the U.S. Department of Defense. Prior to this, Paul was the deputy political analyst in the scenario planning group at Royal Dutch/Shell. He has also consulted on the oil and gas industry for the World Bank. He holds a master's of philosophy from Oxford and a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and has also studied at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration, the Middlebury College Russian School and Reed College.

Bobby Eng, Vice President, State Street Global Advisors, Ltd. & Head, SPDR ETF Business Development for Canada
Bobby is a Vice President at State Street Global Advisors, Ltd and Head of SPDR ETF Business Development for Canada. Bobby focuses on the distribution of SPDR ETFs to institutional investors throughout Canada including pension plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, investment consultants, asset managers and banks.
Prior to this role, Bobby spent over 3 years at First Trust Portfolios Canada as Senior Vice President and Head of Sales responsible for overall sales and distribution. He was also Director & Vice President, Head of National Accounts at Blackrock Asset Management responsible for asset managers and brokerage senior executive relationships. Bobby was instrumental in the success of the iShares, Exchange Traded Funds business in Canada being responsible for sales and business development across Canada. Bobby also held sales and relationship management roles at Fidelity Investments and National Bank of Canada.
Bobby holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Concordia University and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Investment Management Consultant Association (IMCA).

Andrea Gentilini, Managing Director, Novus Partners
Andrea is a Managing Director responsible for developing the firm’s European presence across analytics, data and technology. Before Novus, Andrea launched and managed a $500mm precious metals derivative fund for Union Bancaire Privée (UBP), also serving as Chief Operating Officer for the bank’s Asset Management division. Andrea was previously a Director for Barclays (formerly Lehman Brothers), leading a global team focused on hedge fund research and advisory services. His team was awarded several #1 industry rankings from 2008–2010. Andrea also served as an Executive Director at UBS and a management team member of The Boston Consulting Group in New York and Zurich. Andrea graduated summa cum laude with an MSc in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and also holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and two post-graduate degrees in Information Technology and Applied Statistics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich.

Philippe Gingras, Co-Chair, Montebello Institutional Dialogue
Philippe Gingras was most recently Senior Analyst, Management of Managers for SSQ Financial Group, and previously held various senior executive positions with the firm since 2008. He has lead a group of professionals in the selection and monitoring of a $5B AUM external asset manager platform (100% sub-advised mandates) across traditional and alternative (real estate, infrastructure) asset classes. He had a senior role in portfolio management and portfolio construction of multi-manager fund of funds portfolio series with different risk profile, adapt to investors risk tolerance. He has partnered with the firm’s product development, marketing/communication and sales force teams regarding communications initiatives, product updates and new investment solutions. Prior to his roles at SSQ Financial Group, Philippe was an investment management consultant with Aon Hewitt and a senior mutual fund analyst with National Bank Securities.
Philippe was the past President and Board Member, CFA Quebec from 2010-2015. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Investment Manager designations and obtained the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration, finance major from Université Laval.

Tom Goodwin, Senior Research Director, FTSE Russell Indexes
Tom Goodwin is Senior Research Director for FTSE Russell. Based in New York, he has recently focused on “smart beta” indexes and speaks on this and other index topics at conferences and media events. He is the author of numerous white papers on investing and benchmarking with FTSE Russell Indexes, including a comprehensive guidebook on the range of smart beta indexes and their uses in client portfolios.
Tom is a financial economist with more than 15 years experience developing research and solutions for asset owners. His areas of focus have included capital markets research, asset allocation, factor allocation, forecasting, performance measurement, and risk budgeting. Holder of both US and UK passports, Tom served as Head of Capital Markets research in London as well as many other roles within Russell Investments, including Director of Portfolio Strategies. Tom has also held the position of Chief Economist for King County in Seattle, Washington.

Stéphane Jean, Head of Liability Driven Investments, Fiera Capital
Stéphane Jean is the leader of the Liability Driven Investment team and is responsible for managing immunized and liability driven mandates as well as index, structured equity and bond, and alternative beta strategies for pension plans, financial institutions, and foundations.
Mr. Jean has 22 years of industry experience, including positions as principal and senior actuarial consultant at a leading investment consulting firm.
Mr. Jean graduated from Université Laval with a Bachelor of Science (BSc), majoring in Actuarial Sciences. He later became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA).

Teresa Kong, Head of Fixed Income, Senior Portfolio Manager, Matthews Asia
Teresa Kong is a Portfolio Manager at Matthews Asia and manages the firm’s Asia Strategic Income and Asia Credit Opportunities Strategies. Prior to joining Matthews Asia in 2010, she was Head of Emerging Market Investments at Barclays Global Investors, now known as BlackRock, and responsible for managing the firm’s investment strategies in Emerging Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America. She developed and managed strategies spanning absolute return, active long-only and exchange-traded funds. In addition to founding the Fixed Income Emerging Markets Group at BlackRock, she was also Senior Portfolio Manager and Credit Strategist on the Fixed Income credit team. Previously, Teresa was a Senior Securities Analyst in the High Yield Group with Oppenheimer Funds, and began her career with JP Morgan Securities Inc., where she worked in the Structured Products Group and Latin America Capital Markets Group. She received both a B.A. in Economics and Political Science and an M.A. in International Development Policies from Stanford University. She speaks Cantonese fluently and is conversational in Mandarin. Teresa has been a Portfolio Manager of the Asia Strategic Income Fund since its inceptions in 2011 and of the Asia Credit Opportunities Fund since its inception in 2016.

Daniel Marchand, Senior Vice-President, Head of Investor Global Sales, Trez Capital
Daniel Marchand joined Trez Capital in August of 2016 as Senior Vice-President, Head of Global Investor Sales. In his role, he will oversee Trez’ capital raising efforts in Canada, the U.S. and abroad. Daniel brings over 22 years of investments sales, client service and product development expertise. Most recently he served as Senior Vice-President, Global Business Development at Nuveen Investments of Chicago. Prior to Nuveen, Daniel held similar positions at Lazard Asset Management in New York and RBC Global Asset Management. Daniel is equally a seasoned conference speaker where he has spoken on many occasions on Real Asset Investing to Institutional Investors from Canada and abroad. Daniel has a B.A. in Economics from Concordia University and is fluent in English and French.

William Mougayar, Author of The Business Blockchain
William Mougayar is an entrepreneur, investor, blogger, advisor and mentor to startups and enterprises; focusing on blockchain technologies and peer-to-peer models. William is the General Partner at Virtual Capital Ventures, an early stage tech fund, focused on decentralized technology applications. He is the author of two new books, The Business Blockchain (Wiley, 2016), and Centerless (Wiley, 2017). Prof. Luis Seco, Co-founder, President and CEO, Sigma Analysis & Management Ltd.
Prof. Luis Seco is the co-founder, President and CEO of Sigma Analysis & Management Ltd, an asset management firm that customizes liquid alpha investment products for Institutional Investors, a pioneer in managed account services. He obtained his Ph.D. from Princeton University and was a Bateman Instructor at the California Institute of Technology before becoming a Professor at the University of Toronto, where he directs the Mathematical Finance Program and the RiskLab, a research laboratory that conducts research activities in the area of financial risk. He was authored numerous articles in mathematics, finance, risk management and investments, and won numerous research awards, from NATO, NSERC and most recently was knighted as "Caballero de la Orden del Merito Civil" awarded by the Spanish Government.

Gregory Vorwaller, President, Trez Capital
Greg Vorwaller was appointed President of Trez Capital on July 6, 2015. As President, Greg is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm, building both new and existing business, capitalizing on strategic opportunities and developing and implementing Trez’ overall strategy.
Greg has held a number of senior executive positions at prominent financial and real estate services firms where he led and built businesses encompassing investment sales, mortgage brokerage and investment banking to market leading positions. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President and Global Head of Cushman & Wakefield, prior to which he served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of CBRE’s Global Capital Markets business line. In each capacity, Greg developed a reputation for leading from the front line, working with teams and clients throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific in developing and executing business plans which resulted in the advancement of the key strategic initiatives of each firm.
Greg graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts. He serves as a board member of Dental Associates and sits on the Board of Advisors of the UW Madison Graaskamp Center for Real Estate Member. In addition, Greg is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Economic Club of Chicago.
